Terms and Conditions for Recurring Donations to Disability Response

  1. These terms and conditions establish the agreement between Disability Response Limited (“Disability Response”), a registered charity supporting individuals with disabilities in Burundi, and you, governing your recurring donation (“Contribution”). This agreement supersedes any prior arrangements you may have entered into with Disability Response.

  2. You authorise Disability Response, depending on your selected payment method, to either:

    • Direct Debit: Debit your nominated bank account on the 15th of each month (“Debit Date”) or within three banking days thereafter for the Contribution you specified, unless another date is mutually agreed. If a debit fails, we may reattempt or contact you for instructions.

    • Card Payment: Debit your nominated credit or debit card on the 15th of each month (“Debit Date”) for the Contribution you specified, unless another date is mutually agreed upon. Should the payment fail, we will attempt to process it again.

  3. For credit or debit card payments, Disability Response may pre-authorise a nominal amount (e.g., $1) to verify the validity of your card details. This is a security measure and is not a charge against your account.

  4. By entering this agreement, you agree to the following:

    • Ensure sufficient funds are available in your nominated account to cover the Contribution on the Debit Date. Any dishonour fees charged by your financial institution are your responsibility.

    • Confirm with your financial institution that your nominated account is eligible for direct debits (if applicable).

    • Notify Disability Response if your nominated account or card is transferred or closed.

  5. You may make changes to your Contribution by providing written notice to Disability Response or contacting our Donor Support Team at least 10 working days before the next Debit Date. Changes may include:

    • Adjusting the frequency of your Contribution.

    • Increasing or decreasing your Contribution.

    • Deferring a payment and arranging a catch-up payment at a later date.

    • Cancelling all debits and terminating this agreement.
Please include your Donor ID, referenced in our communications, when contacting us.

  6. If you consent during the sign-up process, Disability Response may increase your Contribution annually by a small amount (e.g., $1) to account for rising costs in delivering services. You may withdraw this consent by contacting our Donor Support Team.

  7. Disability Response reserves the right to amend the terms of this agreement by providing 14 days written notice. Changes may include adjustments to the Debit Date, frequency, or Contribution amount. In the event of an increase, you will have the option to opt-out.

  8. If you believe an unauthorized debit has been made from your account (“Unauthorised Debit”), you must notify Disability Response immediately, either in writing or by contacting us at info@disabilityresponse.org.au.

  9. Disability Response will refund the amount of an Unauthorised Debit if we cannot demonstrate that the debit was authorised. Refunds will only be credited to the original account or card debited.

  10. If you are dissatisfied with Disability Response’s handling of an Unauthorised Debit, you may escalate the matter to your financial institution for resolution.

  11. Your account and personal details will be securely stored in compliance with applicable privacy laws. Information will only be disclosed as necessary for processing payments or upon your request. For more information, refer to our Privacy Policy.

  12. By entering this agreement, you consent to Disability Response collecting and using your personal information as defined under applicable privacy laws. This information is used to process your Contribution and may be shared with affiliated organizations or suppliers to the extent necessary for providing services.

  13. Disability Response reserves the right to terminate this agreement at its sole discretion by providing written notice.

  14. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Victoria, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in that region.
